Jessica Burton was born in Scotland. Her father joined BOAC (the British Airline) after the war, and the family moved around the world for the next six years, living in India, Hong Kong and England.

She emigrated to Canada in the 50s and completed schooling in Toronto. Jessica spent seven years with Brampton Guardian newspaper - two as Office Manager and five as Advertising Sales rep. She also worked eight years for Bramalea Ltd.’s Shopping Centre division as Promotion Director at Bramalea City Centre. She was later Shopping Centre Manager of five small centres in Ajax, Stoney Creek, Midland, Thornhill and Bramalea. All of these experiences have aided in the formation of the unique insider’s take on the workings of the shopping mall and newspaper industries contained in the Jenny Turnbull mysteries.

Jessica’s hobbies include reading, knitting, international cooking and collecting people. She likes to travel. and has driven to California via the Grand Canyon numerous times. A single mother of four grown children, she now lives in Brampton, Ontario.

She is currently working on the sequel to her first novel with RendezVous Crime, Death Goes Shopping.
